Hello. My name is Kevin and I started GUITARFORCE Pickups because I love guitars and I have a passion for great tone. I've been a musician for over 25 years and have worked with guitar electronics for about 20 years. I decided to start making pickups years ago for myself to improve and develop my own individual sound because I wasn't satisfied with the stock pickups that came in the guitars that I purchased. And after making pickups for my friends (who gave me rave reviews and encouraged me to go into business selling my pickups), as well as receiving many compliments from strangers at gigs regarding my tone, I decided to sell them commercially.
I have spent hundreds of hours of research disecting old as well as new pickups and learning why some sound great and some don't. I've experimented with different magnet grades, magnet wire sizes and insulation types, steel alloys for various components, and understand how each componant interacts with all the others to affect tone. I manipulate the different components as well as have developed my own techniques to achieve the tone that I seek. From this knowledge, I have designed a series of pickups that I believe generate some of the best tone on the market today. I personally handcraft each pickup one at a time in order to ensure the highest level of quality. I also fabricate and source the finest components available to construct my pickups. I am dedicated to providing artists with the best possible product and ensuring their complete satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with your tone or if you have not yet found the tone that you seek from other pickupmakers' products, try a set of mine. You will be glad that you did.
Life is too short to settle for bad tone. Feel free to contact me to discuss your needs. The easiest way is via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via our this web site's "Contact Us" link.
In order to better serve customers, I've decided to use email exclusively to communicate. Unfortunately, I have found that the increase in calls and playing phone tag is taking a lot more time. This is time that I need for winding pickups and completing customers' orders. I can respond to your questions at length and in a more timely manner using email. I check my email regularly. Email exchanges also provide a record of our discussions so that I can refer to for any future order.
Lead Times for Orders
I generally build each pickup as I receive the order. Therefore, lead times for shipment of pickups are in effect. Please read my lead times information page before placing your order. My standard turnaround time is 3 weeks. However, you will generally receive your order before the specified lead time. The lead time will always be displayed on the top of the products page. Please note that lead times may/will change based on the number of orders that are received at any given time and the necessity to manage the workload.
I understand that tone is subjective and what I like may not be what someone else thinks sounds good. That is why I offer a no-hassle exchange or refund policy. You have up to 30 days to test drive my pickups. If you're not completely satisfied with their sound, return them and I will either exchange or rewind them, or refund the purchase price of the pickups (less shipping costs). The customer is responsible for the costs of shipping back exchanges and returns. In the case of exchanges, customer must make arrangements with me to cover the costs of shipping back an exchange. Free shipping only applies to the initial order. Please read the additional information on my Warranty and Guarantee Policy.
An order cannot be changed once it is submitted and placed on the work schedule. We ask that before placing an order, make sure that all information is correct and the pickup that you're ordering is the one you really want. You can contact me if you have any questions before placing your order.
Maryland Residents must add 6% sales tax to their order.
There is a $60 fee for rush orders for custom pickups (Note: Overnighting one of our stock pickups does not fall under this fee policy if it is in stock and available for immediate shipment). A rush order is any order that must be received sooner than the standard 2-week lead time. I complete orders in the order in which they are received. In cases of rush orders, I am required to rearrange my winding schedule to accommodate the rush order. Therefore I have to adjust my production period. A rush order can also be a large order, which must be completed within the 2-week standard timeframe (e.g., 25 pickups). I will also let you know if a rush order applies for a particular order even though an example may not be listed here. If you have questions about this policy, please contact me. The fee for rush orders is non-refundable.
Paypal is the preferred method of payment (you do not need a Paypal account to pay by credit card). After selecting the pickup model and bobbin and wiring features, indicate, in the notes section of the Paypal payment screen, any additional details of your order. It is also imperative that you include your contact information with your name, shipping address, and phone number. When using email, please only use one email account to eliminate any confusion and to ensure a speedy communication.
